Lindale man arrested on meth trafficking charge
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers arrested a Lindale man at his Avenue E residence late last week on a felony count of trafficking methamphetamine.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Christopher Avery Jones was found in possession of 35 grams of meth, a digital scale, and a pistol.
He is additionally charged with possession of meth, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Cartersville man charged with drug possession
A Cartersville man was arrested at Calhoun Road and the bypass on drug charges over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Jakevis Amonie Brooks was in possession of multiple clear bags containing suspected marijuana.
He also had a large amount of cash, packaging materials, a scale, and a THC vape pen.
Brooks is charged with felony possession of more than an ounce of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, and possession of a THC vape by a person under the age of 21.
Inmates facing charges
Charges were filed against three inmates at the Floyd County Jail early Sunday morning.
According to jail records:
37-year-old Nicholas Andrew Jones and 31-year-old Thomas Dustin Douglas, both of Rome, were found with a green leafy substance suspected to be a form of synthetic marijuana known as spice.
Both are charged with possession of drugs by an inmate.
Meanwhile, 23-year-old Jimmy Maurice Gowan Jr. was charged with interference with government property after he reportedly destroyed a $250 tablet belonging to the jail.
