Two arrested on drug charges
Two Rome residents were recently arrested at a location on Shorter Avenue on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
28-year-old Richard David Whittington Jr. was found with individually packaged marijuana with prices and names on them.
He also had THC wax.
He is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute, and failure to appear.
26-year-old Sara Loran Gilbert is charged with possession of methamphetamine after being found with a baggie containing suspected meth.
Tag light violation leads to meth arrest
A traffic stop on Lewis Road ended with the arrest of an Armuchee man on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Kyle William Brown was initially stopped for a tag light that was not working.
A search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine and a glass pipe.
Brown is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, driving without insurance, and no tag light.
Report: Man found with vape at jail
A West Rome man is facing charges of possession of drugs by an inmate following his arrest on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Mibzar Maquito Perez was initially arrested for DUI and other traffic violations.
Once at the jail, he was found with a THC vape.
Perez is additionally charged with possession of marijuana, DUI, driving without a license, suspended registration, no insurance, and a probation violation.
Calhoun man accused of shoplifting in Rome
A Calhoun man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Friday on a felony warrant charging him with theft by shoplifting.
According to the warrant:
36-year-old Weston Lewis Gosa took $542.96 in merchandise from Tractor Supply on Highway 411 in Rome back on November 6.
