Man accused of stealing $60,000 during robbery
Charges have been filed in a reported robbery in Floyd County back on January 13.
According to an arrest warrant:
36-year-old Jermiah Jerome Philpot of Forest Park broke into a vehicle at the Kangaroo Express Mart on Maple Avenue in Lindale.
When confronted, Philpot snatched the money bag from the victim and drove off.
There was an estimated $60,000 in the money bag.
Philpot is charged with a felony count of robbery.
Report: Woman permitted child to shoplift, then found with heroin
A Silver Creek woman is facing charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and contributing to the delinquency of a minor following her arrest on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Candace Nicole Mims allowed a child to walk out of Aldi on Turner McCall Boulevard with close to $43 in food.
Mims was found with suspected heroin.
She is additionally charged with a misdemeanor count of theft by shoplifting.
