Report: Purported gang member found with stolen gun
A Rome man is facing multiple charges, including three counts of participation in criminal street gang activity, following his arrest at his Dodd Boulevard residence on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Cornelius Jaquarius Woodard, while associated with “The Bloods,” was in possession of a Glock 23 and a Glock 35.
The Glock 35 had been reported stolen in Atlanta.
Woodard is also charged with two counts of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and a single count of theft by receiving stolen property.
Man reportedly found with crack cocaine at jail
A North man was arrested on Wednesday on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
40-year-old Jerome Strickland was found with suspected methamphetamine during a traffic stop for a window tint violation on Shorter Avenue.
Once at the jail, he was found with over an ounce of suspected crack cocaine.
Strickland is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of cocaine, possession of cocaine with the intent to distribute, possession of meth, and crossing the guard line at the jail with drugs.
Report: Men had water fountains stolen from Rome High
Two West Rome men were arrested at their Wilma Drive home on Wednesday and charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
55-year-old Maurice Devon Brewster and 33-year-old Avan Guy Davenport were in possession of ten water fountains valued at $18,000 that were stolen from Rome High School.
Man charged with false imprisonment, child cruelty
A Silver Creek man is charged with two counts of 2nd-dgree cruelty to children and false imprisonment following his arrest at his Compton Road home on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year-old Matthew Landon Littlejohn held the victim in a vehicle while he drove without regard to the safety of others.
The victim expressed that she wanted to get out of the vehicle several times, but Littlejohn refused to stop.
This occurred in the presence of two children.
Littlejohn is additionally charged with reckless conduct, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, and duty upon striking a fixture.
