The Rome City Commission is expected to lift the moratorium on issuance of permits for new gas stations or convenience stores when it meets on Monday.
The moratorium has been in place since late last year to give officials time to come up with ways to address the proliferation of convenience stores and gas stations.
Both the Rome City Commission and the Floyd County Commission have adopted new development standards.
In other action, city commissioners will consider the adoption of a City of Civility resolution.
By adopting the resolution, elected officials of the Rome City Commission pledge to build a stronger and more prosperous community by advocating for civil engagement, respecting others and their viewpoints, and finding solutions for the betterment of the city.
Monday’s meeting begins at 6:30 pm at Rome City Hall.
During the caucus, which starts at 5 pm, the commission will hear about homeless camp enforcement in the city.
