Man charged with aggravated assault
A man from Hodges, Alabama, has been arrested in connection with an assault on Burnett Road in Rome on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
20-year-old Prentiss Jackson Ouellette pointed a firearm at two victims, under the age of 18, in violation of a temporary protective order.
He refused to allow one of the victims to leave the home by blocking the doorway.
He also used force to open the door and made unwanted contact with one of the victims.
Ouellette is charged with two counts of aggravated assault, two counts of first-degree cruelty to children, and single counts of aggravated stalking, false imprisonment, criminal trespass with damage to property, simple assault, simple battery, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Man charged with serious injury by vehicle
Charges have been filed in a wreck that occurred back on January 23 on Highway 27 north at Dixie Park Road
According to an arrest warrant:
24-year-old Sameer Fadi Musleh caused a wreck that resulted in the victim sustaining two back fractures and requiring spinal surgery.
Musleh also fled the scene of the wreck.
He is charged with a felony count of serious injury by vehicle.
Warrant: Woman tried to kill phone battery by repeatedly calling after police seized it
A 22-year-old Rome woman has been arrested on a felony warrant, charging her with attempt or conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act.
According to the arrest warrant:
Ashley Nicole Butts conspired with another man to destroy cell phone evidence by intentionally trying to make her phone’s battery die by continuously calling it.
Butts had previous knowledge that the phone was in police custody after she was arrested for various drug charges.
She believed that if the phone‘s battery was dead, investigators would not be able to find evidence to support the drug investigation.
The incident was captured on a jail-recorded phone line where Butts could be heard actively calling the phone and scheming with her co-conspirator.
Butts is additionally charged with a felony count of tampering with evidence and misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana and possession of drug-related objects.
Man charged with meth possession
A Dalton man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday following his arrest at a location on Turner McCall Boulevard in Rome.
According to jail records:
59-year-old Jeffrey Allen Hughes was found with suspected methamphetamine and marijuana.
He is charged with felony possession of meth and a misdemeanor count of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Woman charged with aggravated stalking
A 40-year-old Rome woman is accused of violating a temporary protective order.
According to an arrest warrant:
Megan Tenille Jones contacted the victim at an undisclosed location in Rome for the purpose of harassing and intimidating the woman.
The TPO issued on January 23 stated that Jones had no contact with the victim.
However, once Jones contacted the woman, she remained on the property.
