Man charged with aggravated animal cruelty
A Marietta man was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on four felony counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Daniel James Terry caused the death of four puppies by abandoning them, and leaving them without food and water, in a home on Longmeadow Drive in Rome in September of 2024.
Woman charged with theft by receiving stolen property
A stolen vehicle lands a LaGrange woman in the Floyd County Jail.
According to jail records:
42-year-old Leslie Moore Jones was in possession of a vehicle that she knew she did not have permission to have at a location on Maurice Culberson Drive in Rome.
The Toyota Sequoia is valued at $15,000.
Jones is charged with theft by receiving stolen property.
Report: Man threatened to kill a police officer
A homeless man is accused of threatening a Rome Police officer on Broad Street at Third Avenue.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
39-year-old John Braswell Scott threatened to kill the officer with the officer’s service weapon.
Scott also failed to identify himself and was being loud while shouting obscenities.
He is charged with terroristic threats and acts, disorderly conduct, and misdemeanor obstruction of law enforcement.
Report: Man has two fake IDs
A traffic stop over the weekend in Downtown Rome ended with the arrest of a Knoxville, Tennessee, man.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
18-year old Noah Christopher Kulisek was operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of drugs.
He was then found with a fake Georgia ID and a low THC vape pen.
While being processed at the jail, Kulisek was found with a second fake Georgia ID.
He is charged with two counts of 2nd-degree forgery, possession of a THC product by someone under the age of 21, DUI, improper turn, and a seat belt violation.
