The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning for several for our area.
The warning got Floyd, Gordon, Bartow, Polk, and Paulding Counties is in effect from 1 p.m. on Saturday until 10 a.m. on Monday.
The warning is from 7 a.m. on Saturday until 10 a.m. Monday in Chattooga County.
Significant icing is expected, with total ice accumulations between a quarter of an inch and one inch expected.
Winds will also be gusting as high as 40 mph in portions of north central, northeast, and northwest Georgia.
Expect power outages and tree damage due to the ice.
Travel could be impossible.
The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute.
Travel is strongly discouraged, but if you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. P
