Woman accused of stealing from elderly man
A Rome woman has been jailed on charges of identity fraud, financial transaction card fraud, and exploitation of the elderly.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
29-year-old Shakeria Miesia Anderson used a card from a stolen wallet 17 times between November 25 and December 3 to make more than $1,700 in transactions.
The victim in the case is an 80-year-old man.
Two arrested on drug charges
Two people were arrested during a traffic stop on Highway 411 at Hine Road on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 26-year-old Nasia Ja-El Collins of Lindale was stopped for following too closely.
Officers then found more than an ounce of marijuana.
Collins and 46-year-old Lajohnatha Nicaurag Kinnebrew are both charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.
Man charged with entering an auto, theft
A Lindale man has been charged with entering vehicles at an apartment on Cave Spring Road back in November.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
27-year-old Joseph Matthew Wheeler entered a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee and a 2020 Nissan.
He took a pair of sunglasses from the Jeep.
Wheeler, who has been jailed since Christmas Day on unrelated charges, is now charged with two counts of entering an automobile and one count of misdemeanor theft by taking.
Man charged with theft by deception
A Silver Creek man, arrested recently for identity fraud, theft by taking, and exploitation of the elderly, is facing an additional charge of theft by deception.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
63-year-old Loyal Lee Miller sold a 1995 Chevrolet P30, which he knew was not his property, for $2,000,
He provided false statements to deceive the victim out of his money.
Two charged with meth possession
Two people are facing a possession of methamphetamine charge following their arrest late last week on Martha Berry Highway.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
22-year-old Haley Christine Moore of Cedartown admitted to having meth hidden inside a body cavity.
She then moved it under her clothes in the back seat of the vehicle.
Meanwhile, 48-year-old Todd Mitchell Gilliams had a scale with narcotic residue on it.
Gilliams is additionally charged with possession of drug-related objects, while Moore is being held on a probation violation.
