Two charged with child cruelty
Two people were arrested after authorities said that children were living in deplorable conditions at a home on 1st Street in Shannon.
According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records:
48-year-old Jeremy Ladale Broach and 47-year-old Casey Lynette Ingle failed to provide a safe and clean living environment.
There was animal waste throughout the residence, along with trash, mold, and old food.
The house was infested with insects.
Broach and Ingle also failed to follow up for treatment for a child’s head lice problem.
Both are charged with two counts of 1st-degree cruelty to children.
Man charged with possession of cocaine
A traffic stop on Shorter Avenue ended with the arrest of a Rome man on drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 48-year-old James Edward McDearmont III was stopped for driving without his headlights on.
He was then found with approximately 15 grams of suspected crack cocaine.
McDearmont is charged with possession of cocaine, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and a headlight violation.
Man charged with felony marijuana possession
A Cave Spring man was arrested on Tuesday after he was reportedly found with two pounds of marijuana.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 19-year-old William Dakota Bramlett was initially stopped on Highway 411 at Bagwell Road for a tag light violation.
Police then located the marijuana, approximately half of which was packaged for resale.
Bramlett is charged with felony possession of marijuana and possession with the intent to distribute.
Alabama woman arrested on drug charges
A woman from Piedmont, Alabama, was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday following her arrest at Walker Mountain Road and Cave Spring Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
19-year-old Anna Grace Cook was found with three pills believed to be Percocet.
She also admitted to having a small amount of marijuana in the center console of her vehicle.
Cook is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Man charged with hunting violations
A Rome man is accused of illegally hunting white-tail deer near his Wayside Road home
According to the misdemeanor arrest warrants:
53-year-old Daniel Scott Roche harvested a 7-point buck on October 20 and an 8-point buck on October 30, after obtaining his season bag limit.
He is charged with two counts each of unlawful ownership or custody of wildlife and possession of more than the bag limit.
Roche is also facing a single count of hunting without a big game license.
