Report: Man fled from police at speeds of more than 100 mph
A Cedartown man is facing multiple charges after leading police on a chase at speeds of over 100 miles an hour in the North Rome and Shannon areas early Sunday morning.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Carlos Uriostiqui was driving under the influence when he fled from police, while driving on the wrong side of the road and failing to maintain his lane.
After stopping his vehicle, Uriostiqui fled on foot on Dempsey Road.
He was in possession of a firearm.
Uriostiqui also had methamphetamine and hydrocodone, which he brought into the jail.
He is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of drugs by an inmate, misdemeanor obstruction, DUI, speeding, reckless driving, failure to maintain a lane, driving on the wrong side of the road, a center turn lane violation, failure to obey traffic control devices, and driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Woman facing charges after allegedly fighting with police
A Coosa woman initially arrested for DUI and driving with an expired tag at North Fifth Avenue and Turner McCall Boulevard on Saturday was additionally charged with interference with government property, simple assault, and terroristic threats and acts.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
23-year-old Katelin Sarah Dennise Kilgore spat at a police officer twice and hit him once.
She also threatened to kill the officer.
Once in the patrol vehicle, Kilgore began kicking the back cage and window in an attempt to damage them.
Woman arrested on controlled substance charge
A Rockmart woman is facing drug charges following her arrest at Rockmart Highway and Wax Road over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
26-year-old Joycelyn Kate Dahlgren was found with two marijuana vapes and a small amount of marijuana.
She is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
