The City of Cave Spring is inviting residents and visitors to ring in the New Year with one of the community’s most anticipated traditions: the Annual Polar Plunge at Rolater Park.
The event will take place on Wednesday, January 1, 2026, from 10 a.m. until noon at Rolater Park in Cave Spring.
Organizers say the event will go on rain or shine, continuing a long-standing local tradition that has drawn participants and spectators alike from across Floyd County and surrounding areas.
Held each New Year’s Day, the Polar Plunge offers a unique way to kick off the year, with brave participants taking a cold-water plunge while others gather to cheer them on.
In past years, the event has become a festive gathering point for the community, bringing together families, friends, and visitors to celebrate the start of a new year.
