National Weather Service in Peachtree City –

The National Weather Service is warning of elevated fire danger across parts of North Georgia, including Gordon, Chattooga, Bartow, and Floyd counties.
Low relative humidity levels — dropping to around 25 percent or lower — combined with gusty easterly winds of up to 20 miles per hour, are creating conditions where fires can start easily and spread rapidly.
Officials are urging residents to avoid outdoor burning and to use extreme caution with any activity that could generate sparks.
Dry vegetation and windy conditions could cause even small fires to quickly become difficult to control.
Residents are encouraged to remain weather-aware and to follow any local burn advisories or restrictions that may be in effect.
