Report: Man found with four ounces of fentanyl at jail
A Rome Man is charged with trafficking fentanyl following his arrest during a traffic stop on Redmond Road at Lavender Drive on Thursday.
According to Floyd County Jail records;
43-year-old Terrence J. McClinic made an improper lane change, and it was then discovered that he was driving with a suspended license and had less than an ounce of marijuana.
Once at the jail, he was found with around 4 ounces of fentanyl.
McClinic is additionally charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of drugs by an inmate, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and improper lane change.
Man accused of breaking woman’s arm
A Lyerly man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Thursday on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated battery.
According to the warrant:
35-year-old Branden Lee Salas attacked a woman at a location on Blacks Bluff Road in Rome on May 8 of this year.
The victim sustained a fracture to her left arm.
Salas is being held on a probation violation and is additionally charged with being a fugitive from justice because there is a warrant for his arrest on unspecified charges in Cherokee County, Alabama.
Traffic stop results in meth arrest
A man who was a passenger in a vehicle stopped for a brake light violation on Rockmart Highway is facing a felony drug charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
64-year old Terry Lynn Coots of Rockmart was found with two baggies of methamphetamine following a K9 indication.
He is charged with possession of meth and a seat belt violation.
