Thousands of alumni, students, and families will head to Berry College Friday and Saturday for Mountain Day, the annual celebration of founder Martha Berry’s birthday.

Families will enjoy a variety of historical events and celebrations. Saturday’s main events begin with the Grand March, a classic tradition that began nearly 100 years ago.

Numerous reunion gatherings, Mountain Day Olympics, and fellowship are also on the schedule.

Mountain Day began in 1914 as a birthday celebration for Miss Berry and is also a homecoming for the college.

Nationally recognized for academic excellence and as an outstanding educational value, Berry is an independent, coeducational, comprehensive liberal arts college of approximately 2,200 students.

For more than a century, the college has offered an exceptional education that balances intellectual exploration, practical learning, and character development.

Its 27,000-acre campus is the world’s largest.
