An 89-year-old Rome man was fatally injured on Friday when his vehicle crashed in the parking lot of Kroger on Turner McCall Boulevard.
According to the Rome Police Department report:
The 2013 Cadillac SRX traveled straight through the parking lot and struck a tree.
The driver, Heyward Jamson, died at the scene.
There were no other injuries.
The crash occurred at around 3:30 p.m. on Friday and it remains under investigation.
