Man accused of making threats, fighting with police
A Shannon area man is facing multiple charges, including aggravated battery on a police officer and 2nd-degree cruelty to children, following his arrest at his Barron Road residence on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Ethan Jarred Smith was yelling profanities at his neighbors from his front porch and threatening them.
As he was being placed in handcuffs, Smith became combative, threatening the officer and a pest control tech.
Smith is additionally charged with felony obstruction, disorderly conduct, and three counts of terroristic threats and acts.
Woman charged with forgery
An Atlanta woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Wednesday on two felony counts of 1st-degree forgery.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Essence Ja’Nia Mitchell has a counterfeit $100 bill while at Kroger on Turner McCall Boulevard and at Academy Sports on Shorter Avenue.
