Man charged with criminal attempt to commit child molestation
A Summerville man is accused of traveling to Floyd County to meet up with a minor for sex acts.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
37-year-old Alan Scott Holbrook made online contact with someone he believed was under the age of 16 and engaged in a graphic conversation, and asked to exchange nude photos.
He was arrested when he arrived to meet the person, and was found with Adderall, oxycodone, and gabapentin.
Holbrook is charged with criminal attempt to commit child molestation, obscene internet contact with a child, sexual exploitation of children, grooming a minor for a sexual offense, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, and possession of dangerous drugs.
Man charged with aggravated assault
A North Rome man is accused of assaulting a woman on August 7 at his Forsyth Street home.
According to an arrest warrant:
37-year-old Damian Demaqus Ragland struck the victim with an unknown blunt object about the face, mouth and nose, causing significant injuries.
Also, on July 25, Ragland hit the victim in the left eye at an apartment on Dodd Boulevard.
He is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and failure to appear in court.
Teen charged with terroristic threats and acts
A North Rome teen is accused of making threats both verbally and via text message.
According to an arrest warrant:
17-year-old Caiden Labron Jackson texted a picture of himself holding a gun to the victim.
He also told the victim that her mother had better watch her back while driving on the road and threatened to get the victim at home or at school.
Jackson also grabbed the victim while at school, pushing her into a corner.
He is charged with terroristic threats and acts, battery, and harassing communications.
Man accused of falsifying affidavit regarding motor vehicle
A South Rome man has been arrested on felony warrants charging him with false statements while registering a motor vehicle and altering, forging, or counterfeiting a motor vehicle certificate.
According to the warrants:
28-year-old Naterrious De’Marcus Lecroy Floyd turned in an affidavit of inheritance while registering a deceased person’s vehicle that stated the surviving spouse and all heirs had agreed upon the division of the estate.
The surviving spouse and heirs had actually not agreed to give the vehicle to Floyd, who did not possess the vehicle’s title.
Inmate accused of causing damage at jail
An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is facing charges of interference with government property and criminal trespass.
According to jail records:
61-year-old Steve Lorenzo Miller damaged a sprinkler head in his cell
The damage is estimated at $400.
Miller has been in jail since his arrest in April on drug charges as well as warrants for failure to appear in court.
Warrant: Man took mother’s vehicle
A 65-year-old Armuchee man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking.
According to the warrant:
David Thomas Burnette took a 2014 Ford Escape belonging to his mother.
The vehicle is valued at $11,000.
Burnette also blocked his mother so she could not contact him.
He is also charged driving without a license in his possession.
Man accused after causing a scene at park
A Rome man was recently arrested at Heritage Park on charges of littering and disorderly conduct.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
55-year-old Jammie Lee Daniel emptied all the garbage cans and acted in a tumultuous manner, scaring the other people at the park.
He was also charged with solicitation of sodomy after making lewd and sexually suggestive comments.
Daniel was additionally charged with obstruction for resisting police officers.
