Report: Woman chased after child
An Acworth woman was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on charges of simple assault and 1st-degree cruelty to children.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
48-year-old Kimberly Ann Pyland chased a child under the age of 18, placing the victim in fear of apprehension and violent injury.
The incident occurred on Friday evening at a location on Rockmart Road
Two arrested during traffic stop
A Centre, Alabama man has been charged with being a fugitive from justice, while a Gaylesville, Alabama woman is facing a felony count of hindering apprehension.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 31-year-old Dylan Lee Edwards was stopped on Highway 27 South for failing to maintain a lane.
Edwards said he was unable to maintain a lane due to his vehicle having a number of mechanical issues, resulting in a charge of driving an unsafe vehicle.
He gave the police a false name.
It was later discovered he was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Cherokee County, Alabama.
Meanwhile, 31-year-old Brittany Ann Edwards is accused of lying to police to conceal the fact that Dylan Lee Edwards had a warrant.
