Floyd County property owners who believe their assessed property value is incorrect have until this Friday to file a written appeal.
According to Chief Appraiser Danny Womack, the estimated property tax amount cannot be used as a basis for appeal.
There are four methods to file an appeal, all listed on the property assessment notice. One of those methods must be selected, and the property owner must also include a valid opinion of value.
Appeals should be addressed to:
Floyd County Board of Assessors
4 Government Plaza, Suite 203
Rome, GA 30161-2803
The written appeal should include:
- The map reference number from the assessment notice
- The chosen method of appeal
- An estimated property value
- A brief reason for the appeal
- A daytime phone number
For more information, property owners should refer to their assessment notice or contact the Floyd County Board of Assessors.
