Man charged with assault, battery, and false imprisonment
A Rome man is accused of assaulting a woman at his apartment on Avenue A.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Leland Thomas Ash threatened the victim with a knife, strangled her, and kept her from leaving the apartment.
The victim sustained visible injuries in the assault.
He also damaged property belonging to the victim in excess of $500.
Ash is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, 2nd-degree criminal damage to property, battery, and false imprisonment.
Woman charged with meth possession
A Rome woman is facing drug charges following a traffic stop at Broad Street and Fifth Avenue on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 51-year-old Kimberly Diane Bailiff was stopped for running a red light.
She was then found with suspected methamphetamine and a glass smoking device.
She is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, failure to obey a traffic control device, driving with a suspended license, and no insurance.
18-year-old found with multiple vapes during traffic stop
A traffic stop for speeding on Martha Berry and the loop ended with the arrest of an 18-year-old Rome woman on Monday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Hannah Lindsey Otting had several vape pens in her vehicle, including one that contained THC.
She also had a small amount of marijuana.
Otting is charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of nicotine by a person under the age of 21, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
