Woman charged with aggravated animal cruelty
A Rome woman was arrested at her Maple Avenue home Tuesday on two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
35-year-old Jamie Lee Hamilton failed to provide adequate food for two dogs, causing them to become severely emaciated.
Texas man jailed for theft in Floyd County
An 18-year-old from Fort Worth, Texas, was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Tuesday on charges of theft by receiving stolen property in another state and fugitive from justice.
According to jail records:
Jayden Iziah-Alexander Johnson was in possession of a 2017 Infiniti Q60, valued at $18,000, which had been reported stolen in Texas.
He was found with the vehicle on Alabama Highway at Looney Road on May 21.
Johnson is also wanted on an arrest warrant in Cherokee County, Alabama.
Man arrested for drugs during traffic stop
A North Rome man was arrested during a traffic stop on Superba Avenue at Woodard Street on Tuesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
42-year-old Walter Lewis Posey Jr. was found with dextroamphetamine without a labeled pill bottle.
Posey is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, and driving with suspended registration.
