A Rome coffee shop loses $1,500 as the result of a scam.
According to a Rome Police Department report:
An employee at Lumina Coffee on Braves Boulevard said that a man called the business and identified himself as a lieutenant with the Rome Police Department.
The caller stated that the shop had counterfeit money as part of their cash stock, and they needed to send it to him via a pay service at a nearby drug store.
