Local contestents excel at Miss Georgia, Miss Georgia’s Teen competitions

The 80th Annual Miss Georgia Scholarship and the Miss Georgia’s Teen Competitions were recently held in the Bill Heard Theatre of the RiverCenter for the Performing Arts in Columbus, and Rome and Floyd County were well represented.

Ninety-three contestants competed for the titles of Miss Georgia 2025 (53 contestants) and Miss Georgia’s Teen 2025 (40 contestants).

Miss Rome, Megan Wright, was Second Runner-Up and received a $3,000 scholarship.

Wright is 22 and is from Calhoun.

She attends Georgia Southern University, her community service initiative is Right Response: Learn, Train, and Save a Life, and her talent is a Broadway vocal.

She also won the preliminary talent competition with a $500 scholarship.

Miss Rome’s Teen, 16-year-old Sydney Snyder from Hogansville, who was Third Runner-Up, received a $1,500 scholarship.

She attends Lagrange High School, and her community service initiative is Active Life, Healthy Mind. 

Her talent is a lyrical dance.

Snyder also won the Preliminary Talent Award ($200 Scholarship).

Miss Coosa Valley’s Teen, 17-year-old Heidi Holder from Rome, who attends Darlington School, was one of the remaining semi-finalists and won a $250 scholarship.
