Man accused of burglarizing garage
A West Rome man originally arrested on May 22 for a probation violation is now facing charges of 2nd-degree burglary and felony theft by taking.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
30-year-old Jesse Alan Eaves entered a garage in the 800 block of Burnett Ferry Road on May 4 and stole a weed eater, a generator, and power cords.
The total of the thefts was listed at over $1,500.
Man charged with child cruelty, battery
A Cartersville man has been arrested on a felony warrant charging him with 1st-degree cruelty to children.
According to the warrant:
35-year-old Cody Joseph Staud dragged a child by the hood of his clothing.
The victim was unable to breathe as he was being dragged.
Staud also threw a flashlight at a woman, striking her under the right eye, causing injuries.
That incident was witnessed by the woman’s young son.
Staud is additionally charged with battery and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
The incidents date back to 2022 and 2023 and occurred at a home on Ash Street in the Celanese community, according to Floyd County Jail records.
Warrant: Man conspired to sell meth
A 46-year-old Rome man was arrested at his Melton Avenue residence Wednesday on a felony warrant charging him with conspiracy to violate Georgia’s Controlled Substances Act.
According to the warrant:
Jimmy Dale Guice conspired with others to sell methamphetamine to a cooperating witness on May 20.
The transaction was captured on video.
Tennessee woman arrested on drug charges
A Cleveland, Tennessee, woman is facing drug charges following her arrest at a location on Martha Berry Highway on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
53-year-old Karen Melanie Wilson was in possession of suspected methamphetamine, two glass pipes, and a prescription drug that is the generic form of Cialis.
She is charged with possession of meth, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of drugs not in the original container.
