The Northwest Georgia Charter Academy board now has two possible sites for the future charter school in Cave Spring.

According to academy founder Judy Taylor, the second site is located on the Georgia School for the Deaf Perry Farm Road campus.

“The State Properties Committee has been authorized by the Georgia Attorney General’s Office to lease the Dillard Building to us,” she said. “It’s a wonderful, beautiful classroom building that is ready for us to move in and serve students when we open in August of 2026.”

In December, the Cave Spring City Council offered the use of the current Community Center for classrooms and another building for offices and ancillary services.

“The Cave Spring City Council is very supportive, and they are keeping that option open for us until we have the signatures on the lease agreement for the GSD property.”

The Northwest Georgia Charter Academy plans to open in 2026 with grades K-5, growing to 9th grade by 2031 and to 12th grade by 2034.
