Inmate facing charges

An inmate at the Floyd County Jail is accused of assaulting another inmate and a jail officer.

According to jail records:

On May 27, 32-year-old Marco Antonio Garza punched the other inmate repeatedly in the face, causing a black eye and other injuries.

On May 21, a jail officer sustained a cut lip and bruising as a result of being punched by Garza, who is associated with the Tango Blast street gang.

Garza is charged with unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution, participation in criminal street gang activity, battery, and battery against a law enforcement officer.

Man accused of burglarizing residence on Calhoun Road

A Rome man is facing a 1st-degree burglary charge following his arrest on Tuesday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

43-year-old Keith Ray Vaughn entered a residence on Calhoun Road through the back basement door with the intent to commit a felony.

Man charged with possession of meth, drug related objects

A West Rome man was arrested Tuesday on drug charges at Hemlock Street and East 20th Street.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

59-year-old Tyrone Carnel McGraw was found with suspected methamphetamine.

He is charged with possession of meth and possession of drug-related objects.

Man arrested at Hennon Drive and Highway 27 North

An Armuchee man was arrested near his Hennon Drive home Tuesday on a felony possession of methamphetamine charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

59-year old Grady Alan Burns was found with a crystal-like substance believed to be meth.
