Charges have been filed in a crash on May 18 that claimed the life of a 3-year-old child in Cartersville.
According to the Georgia State Patrol:
A Hyundai Elantra was traveling northbound on Highway 411 at Ellis Road when the driver failed to maintain his lane.
The vehicle traveled onto the shoulder of the roadway and began to overturn.
After overturning, the Elantra struck a tree with the rear of the car, continued, and struck a utility pole with the rear right passenger door.
3-year-old Lehgacee Redding of Calhoun died from her injuries at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.
Two juvenile passengers were life-flighted to the hospital with serious head injuries.
28-year-old Devonte Eddie-Donald Jenkins of Adairsville has been charged with 1st-degree vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle and DUI.
