The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a contract for bridge rehabilitation in Gordon and Cherokee Counties.
Massana Construction of Newnan was the low bidder at just over $4.8 million.
The work will consist of deck overlay, header repair, edge beam replacement, spall repairs, joint replacement, painting the steel beams, jacking and adjusting base plates and bearings, spall repair of the superstructure and substructure, epoxy injecting cracks, replacing or tightening anchor bolts, pile encasement, and correction of settlement issues at the abutments.
The Gordon County project includes repairs to three bridges on I-75 that cross State Route 225, Highway 41, and the Oostanaula River.
The bridge on Highway 92 over the interstate in Cherokee County is also set for rehab.
The estimated completion date for the projects is June 30, 2027.
