Reports of storm damage continue to come in.

Ridgeferry Park is currently closed after a large tree fell across utility lines near the ECO Center.

The area was under multiple Tornado Warnings on Tuesday evening.

Chattooga County and Gordon County appear to have been the hardest hit.

“In Gordon County right now, they are reporting some damage, and they are about to go out and do some damage assessments,” said Chris Fincher with Floyd County Emergency Management. “Chattooga County had some damage, and there was a possible touchdown, but we are not sure right now. They have issues making phone calls, so a lot of people are having to text.”

In Rome, the water filtration plant was hit by a lightning strike.

“They had some issues with a generator, and we had to get Georgia Power to go and make them a priority on the list so they could resume operations,” Fincher said. “Luckily, it was the middle of the night and there weren’t a lot of users.”
