Report: Man pistol-whipped woman, rammed two police vehicles

A Cartersville man is facing multiple charges after pistol-whipping a woman and then leading police on a chase in which he rammed his truck into two Floyd County patrol vehicles.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

32-year-old Marco Antonio Garza also fired his weapon at the victim at a location on Tumlin Drive.

The victim also had visible marks on her forehead from being pistol-whipped.

Garza then took the woman’s cell phone and left with it before leading police on a chase.

An officer was injured while attempting to bust a window because Garza was not complying during the arrest.

Garza is charged with robbery, aggravated assault, aggravated assault on a police officer, simple battery against a law enforcement officer, felony obstruction, fleeing or attempting to elude, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, battery, DUI, open container, and speeding.
