The investigation continues into an incident on Wood Creek Way in West Rome on Friday night in which three people were shot.
According to a Rome Police Department report:
Officers were initially dispatched in reference to a fight, but while they were en route, the call evolved from a fight to guns being involved and shots being fired.
When officers arrived, they saw a large crowd of people in the street and in the yards from #12 to #20 Wood Creek Way.
They also found two men with gunshot wounds to the leg and one man who had been shot in the foot. That man also had a deep laceration under his eye.
In front of one of the residences, police found three dice, broken liquor bottles, a bag containing marijuana, a phone, and keys.
One of the gunshot victims told police that two men were fighting, and he stepped in to try to stop it. He then got a gun from one of the men and shot one of them.
All of the gunshot victims were transported to the hospital, and the scene was turned over to investigators.
