Man arrested following knife attack in North Rome

A North Rome man is facing charges after he allegedly attacked another man with a knife at a home on Couper Street on Friday of last week.

According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:

37-year-old Charles William Jones swung the knife at the victim, who sustained a cut to his neck.

Jones also pushed the victim and threatened him with a gun.

He then threatened to burn the house down, and then refused to meet with officers who were investigating the incident.

Jones is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats and acts, battery, simple battery, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, obstruction of officers, and a probation violation.

Two charged with financial transaction card fraud

Two Cohutta residents are facing charges of financial transaction card fraud in Floyd County.

According to the arrest warrants:

43-year old Victoria Michelle Gray and 32-year old Christopher Lee Dalton Harrell used a Tunnel Hill woman’s card to make numerous transactions at the Home Depot on Hicks Drive in Rome.

The total of the transactions that were made between November 2 and November 13 was listed at approximately $4,674.

Man arrested after threat heard on 911 call

A Sherwood Forest man is facing a felony count of terroristic threats and acts following his arrest on Sunday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

40-year-old Ladon Shericko Ware threatened to stab the victim.

The threat was heard on a 911 call.

Man charged with aggravated stalking, obstruction

A 40-year-old Coosa Man has been arrested on charges of aggravated stalking and three counts of obstruction of law enforcement.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Matthew Allen Wagner violated a temporary protective order by returning to a residence on North Avery Road with the intent to harass the victims.

He then resisted law enforcement by pulling away from three officers.

Traffic stop leads to drug arrest

A West Rome man was arrested on drug charges over the weekend.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

A vehicle driven by 22-year-old Jose Luis Guzman Jr. was stopped on Shorter Avenue for a seatbelt violation.

The officer could smell marijuana coming from the vehicle.

Three ounces of marijuana and ten THC vapes were located.

Guzman is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, felony possession of marijuana, and a probation violation.
