The Rome Alcohol Control Commission has extended the previous approval of a new beer, wine, and liquor pouring license request for Peachy Pub at 325 Broad Street.
The ACC may extend a previously approved alcohol license request for a specific period if a request is made within the original approval timeframe and the commission deems it appropriate.
The applicant, Guljar Singh, told the ACC he plans to open for business the first week of July.
The license was originally approved in September of last year after the applicant presented five specific documents regarding the business.
Those documents included the proposed menu, his kitchen equipment, the training program for his employees, his entertainment plans, and a security outline approved by the Rome Police Department.
The ACC had previously expressed concerns about past problems at the location regarding the city’s 50-50 food-to-drink ratio and the ability to produce and sell enough food from the small kitchen to offset the distilled spirit sales.
