Report: Man accelerated his vehicle as a woman was trying to get out
An Armuchee man is facing charges following an incident on Saturday night on New Calhoun Highway.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
47-year-old Donald Hugh Hembree III took off as a woman was trying to get out of his vehicle, causing the victim to fall.
Hembree is charged with a felony count of false imprisonment and a misdemeanor count of reckless conduct.
Man accused of hitting woman and taking her cell phone
A Kennesaw man was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on charges of theft by taking and battery.
According to jail records:
28-year-old Isaac Lee King struck a woman in the face and then took her cell phone valued at $1,600.
The incident occurred at a location on Turner McCall Boulevard.
Woman charged with possession of controlled substance, possession of a firearm by a felon
The execution of a search warrant at a residence on Spring Creek Street ended with the arrest of a Rome woman on drug and weapons charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
62-year-old Regina Diane Jackson was found in possession of a firearm, hydrocodone, oxycodone, and gabapentin.
She is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of dangerous drugs, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Four charged with battery at the jail
Four inmates at the Floyd County Jail are facing charges after allegedly beating up another inmate over the weekend.
According to jail records:
29-year-old James Colby Ray of Lindale, and 38-year-old Jason Earl Edwards, 27-year-old Avon Trey Grisson, and 34-year-old Reginald Warren Diamond, all of Rome, are charged with battery.
The victim sustained a knot under his right eye and a cut on his lower lip in the attack.
