Nursing students at Georgia Highlands College’s Floyd campus took part in a hands-on disaster simulation Wednesday.
The exercise featured volunteer student actors portraying triage victims with various injuries, giving nursing students practical emergency response experience.
WRGA News spoke with GHC Assistant Director of Nursing Shea Walker and Brittany Holcomb, Emergency Management Specialist for Atrium Health Floyd, about the simulation’s goals and its role in preparing students for real-world healthcare settings.
