Two-vehicle accident reported on US 27 near GHC

Floyd 911 Dispatch received a report of a two-vehicle accident on Tuesday afternoon on US 27 near Georgia Highlands College.

The Floyd County Police Department along with other first responders arrived at the scene to find a wreck involving a grey Nissan Sentra and a silver Ford Explorer.

The Nissan Sentra sustained front-end damage on the left side and was positioned across two traffic lanes; the turn lane for the Renaissance Marquis Nursing Home and the right outbound lane. Traffic flow remained open in the left outbound lane.

The Ford Explorer sustained damage to the rear right side and was pushed into the grass area in front of Hardeeā€™s.

Based on observations at the time of this report, no major injuries were apparent.
