Couple charged with child and animal cruelty

A Rome couple was recently arrested at their Rockmart Road home on two counts of 1st-degree cruelty to children and four counts of cruelty to animals.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

25-year-old Tiffany Nicole Goswick and 26-year-old Dustin Cheyenne Goswick failed to provide a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for two children, ages 1 and 4.

There was trash, food, dirty diapers, and a smell of ammonia throughout the home.

Four dogs were also being kept inside the residence in the deplorable conditions.

Two people accused of violating orders to stay away from one another

Two people have been arrested on charges of aggravated stalking and simple battery following an altercation on East Second Avenue on Monday.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

22-year-old Aryanna Sade Jackson of Rome struck 25-year-old Anquez Zyshonne Dawson of McDonough in the face.

Meanwhile, Dawson slapped Jackson.

Both were under orders to stay away from each other.

Man charged with violations of the sex offender registry law

A 36-year-old man has been arrested on three felony warrants, all charging him with violating Georgia’s Sex Offender Registry Law.

According to the warrants:

Ricky Taylor Jr. provided false information to the Floyd County Sheriff’s Office when he listed 989 Bells Ferry Road as his residence when he did not intend to live there.

Instead, he maintained his address in Cobb County.

He also failed to notify the sheriff’s office that he was continuing his job as a barber, traveling to people’s private residences to cut their hair.

He is also accused of failing to inform authorities that he had gotten another job in Comer, Georgia.
