Charges continue to pile up for homeless man

A homeless man has been charged in a reported robbery that occurred back on November 1 at a location on Rosalyn Court.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

30-year-old Gary Dalton Morgan lured a 72-year-old man to the location with a deceiving story, telling the victim that he had some items for sale. 

He then snatched the victim’s wallet, which contained $600 in cash and some credit cards.

Morgan is also accused of having a stolen Ford F-150 and a Smith and Wesson pistol on November 5.

Morgan is charged with robbery, exploitation of the elderly, theft by taking, theft by receiving, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

He has also been charged with burglary for entering a residence on Morrison Campground Road and taking six firearms on November 7.

Morgan has been in jail since last week after being arrested for allegedly swallowing methamphetamine and having a shotgun during a traffic stop on Redmond Circle.

He was then additionally charged with theft by receiving for being in possession of a stolen Mercedes and a stolen Dodge Ram.
