Jeff and Mary Margaret Mauer have been named grand marshals for the 2024 Rome Christmas Parade.
Jeff Mauer is Chairman and CEO of Global Impact International, and Co-Founder of the Restoration Rome Program, He has combined his experience as a successful business owner and heart for community service, to initiate and implement creative and scalable solutions to the ever-growing foster care crisis in his hometown of Rome. He serves as a trustee on multiple community and educational boards, and as the community engagement pastor for his church.
Mary Margaret Mauer is Senior Vice President of Foster Care Services for Global Impact International and Co-Founder of the Restoration Rome Program, She is a passionate advocate and community organizer on behalf of foster children and foster families. She has served as an officer or board member for multiple local children’s service organizations, and she is the Co-Founder of the Floyd Faith Coalition for Families. Having studied neurobiology at Emory and Georgia State University, Mary Margaret has focused her efforts on providing services for children who have experienced trauma in the foster care system and applying strategies to reduce the number of children entering state care.
The grand marshal announcement was made Tuesday morning during a breakfast at the Coosa Country Club.
The Rome Christmas Parade begins at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3.
The theme is “A Christmas Carol.”
