On Monday afternoon, Floyd County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain David Thornton gave WRGA News the details about this year’s Peace Officer Memorial Service.

The 28th annual Rome/Floyd Peace Officer Memorial Service will occur Friday, May 17th at 11 AM Downtown in front of the Law Enforcement Center. The public is encouraged to come and join honoring local heroes.

The memorial service comes as part of National Police Week which recognizes the sacrifice and service of U.S. Law Enforcement Officers.
