GDOT awards bid for resufacing bypass

The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a contract for the resurfacing of Georgia Loop 1 (the Rome Bypass) from Martha Berry all the way out to Highway 411.

The low bidder was C.W. Matthews Contracting of Marietta in the amount of $5,494,934.77.

The work will include milling, inlay, and plant mix resurfacing and the estimated completion date is January 31, 2025.

The project is one of 10 awarded by GDOT in February.
