The man wanted in connection with a shooting incident Saturday night in Cherokee County, Alabama is now in custody.

The shooting erupted in front of a residence on county road 40 near the Peeks Crossroads Community during a dispute between 34-year-old Joseph Hunter of Centre and the victim who was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hunter left the scene before law enforcement officers arrived.

He was wanted for attempted murder.
