Adiarsville Police traffic stop leads to arrest of New York fugutive

Adiarsville Police Department –

On Wednesday, March 13th, 2024 at approximately 8:04 PM, the Adairsville Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a black Dodge Charger displaying an expired license plate.

Upon speaking with the driver, later identified as Horacio Bonilla-Garcia, he stated that he did not have a driver’s license but instead provided an El Salvador ID card displaying the name Horacio Bonilla-Garcia.

Bonilla-Garcia was then placed under arrest for driving while unlicensed.

The officer entered the information provided (Horacio Bonilla-Garcia) through GCIC/NCIC where he received information that Mr. Bonilla-Garcia had an active warrant through immigration for a violation pertaining to a prior deportation.

Mr. Bonilla-Garcia was then fingerprinted using a Rapid ID device for identification purposes.

At this time the officer was able to obtain information showing the active felony warrant for Mr. Bonilla-Garcia using the alias of Marcelino Bonilla out of Suffolk County Police Department in New York for Rape-Strong arm as well as the warrant for Immigration Violation-Deported Felon.

Both warrants were confirmed and Mr. Bonilla-Garcia was then transported to Bartow County Jail without incident to await extradition to New York.
