Man charged with theft by taking, theft by deception

A 31-year-old Armuchee-area man has been charged in the thefts of a pool table and a saltwater pool system from a residence on Old Summerville Road in January of this year.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

Toby Lance Eden sold the pool table for $220.

The actual estimated value was $300.

Then, he sold the swimming pool system for $700.

It was valued at $2,000.

Eden is charged with a felony and misdemeanor count of theft by taking and two counts of theft by deception.

Warrant: Man had cocaine at Floyd County Prison

A homeless man is accused of having drugs while an inmate at the Floyd County Prison in March of last year.

According to an arrest warrant:

34-year-old Raffell Xavier Gamble was found in possession of .33 grams of cocaine, which was concealed in between the lining and outer shell of the left arm of a jacket he was wearing when he returned to the prison from a work detail.

Gamble is charged with possession of cocaine, possession of items prohibited for inmates, and crossing the guard line at the prison with drugs.

Man found with fentanyl

A 54-year-old Rome man was arrested on Martha Berry Highway Tuesday on a felony count of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Stephen Lamar Cannon was found with suspected fentanyl as he was being detained on a felony probation violation warrant.
