Man arrested for aggravated assault after breaking into home:

  • A 23-year-old Rome man was arrested Tuesday morning on charges related to aggravated assault. According to Floyd County Jail records, Christopher Lewis Gravely of a Martha Berry Hwy address broke the glass to the front door of a Lake Ridge Circle home and entered the residence without permission. Gravely then proceeded to threaten to kill a female victim with a pistol. In addition to felony aggravated assault, Gravely is charged with making terroristic threats and acts, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, first-degree burglary, and criminal property damage. As of Tuesday Gravely was being held without bond at the Floyd County Jail.

Woman Peppers sprays one victim and spits on another’s face:

  • A 20-year-old Rome woman was arrested on assault charges by the Rome Police Department Monday. According to Floyd County Jail records, Janya Decole Owen of a Mathis Road address allegedly pepper sprayed one juvenile victim, and then spat in the face of another victim at a residence on Runway Drive. Owen is being charged with two counts of simple assault.

Arrest made in Dalton after a victim was stabbed six times:

  • An altercation on Monday night in Dalton resulted in the stabbing of a teenage victim near 4th Avenue. Dalton Police Department has reported that 18-year-old Blaine Bishop was arrested and charged with aggravated assault. The victim was approached by Bishop sparking a fight where Bishop stabbed the victim six times. Bishop allegedly fled before police arrived but was later apprehended at his residence on May Street. Dalton police noted that the victim’s injuries were not life-threatening. Detectives from the Dalton Police Department recovered the knife believed to be the weapon used in the stabbing. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
