On Wednesday afternoon Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene issued a public statement regarding the recent impeachment of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas:

“Last night, after months of hard work, the House Republican conference finally impeached Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. This entire process started when I introduced privileged Articles of Impeachment against Mayorkas on the House floor last November after two of my constituents, Jose and Isabel Lerma of Dalton, GA, were murdered in a high-speed head-on collision at the hands of human traffickers smuggling illegal aliens into our country. This made Secretary Mayorkas’s dereliction of duty deeply personal to me.”

“After I introduced my Articles on the House floor, they were referred to the Homeland Committee to be marked up and reported favorably to the House. I thank Chairman Mark Green for working these Articles through our committee to get a vote on the House floor. Secretary Mayorkas is guilty of breaking our federal immigration laws, breaching the public trust, and violating his oath of office.”

Greene went on to end her statement with: “As a result of intentionally failing to secure our homeland and putting the lives of every American in danger from his very first day in office, Alejandro Mayorkas is unfit to hold the office of Secretary of Homeland Security and must now be tried and convicted in the Senate.”
