Report: 19-year-old possessed fentanyl, threatened officer

A 19-year-old Kingston man was arrested earlier this week on Blacks Bluff Road at Walker Mountain Road after he was reportedly found with 10 and a half fentanyl pills.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Dylan Hankins also had suspected marijuana and THC oil.

Hankins also gave a false name and threatened the officer and the officer’s family on multiple occasions throughout the interaction.

Hankins is charged with possession of Schedule I and Schedule II controlled substances, terroristic threats and acts, obstruction of officers, and giving a false name or date of birth.

Man charged in 2022 burglary

A 33-year-old homeless man has been charged in connection with a burglary in Cave Spring that occurred in December of 2022.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Justin Van Adams entered a home on Cave Spring Road by force, causing $200 in damage.

He then stole five firearms and jewelry.

Adams is charged with 1st-degree burglary, theft by taking, criminal trespass, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Adams was already in jail, having previously been charged in a November 29 burglary on Rockmart Highway in Silver Creek in which firearms, jewelry, and a grease gun were taken.

Woman arrested for possessing oxycodone

A 34-year-old Rome woman was arrested at a convenience store on Turner McCall Boulevard early Wednesday on drug charges.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Melissa Hardin Dickson was found with suspected oxycodone.

She is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of drugs not in the original container.

Warrants: Teen cut tires at Berry College

A Rome teen is accused of cutting the tires of vehicles on the Berry College campus.

According to the arrest warrants:

17-year-old Tyler J. Lewis cut the tires on January 31 at the Morton Lemley and Blackstone parking areas.

He is also accused of cutting a tire on February 2.

Damage to each vehicle was estimated at less than $500.

Lewis is charged with 12 counts of criminal trespass.

Man charged with false imprisonment, battery

A Rome man has been arrested in a domestic violence incident at an apartment on Hennon Drive that occurred back on January 22.

According to Floyd County Jail records and an arrest warrant:

30-year-old Kendrick Lamar Anthony grabbed a woman by the neck and choked her.

He also confined the victim by wrapping his leg around her, stating “You could die today.”

Anthony is charged with battery and false imprisonment.
