The Cherokee County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office is continuing its investigation into a weekend shooting that sent one man to the hospital.

According to the incident report:

Two men entered a home on County Road 71 in the Woods Bend community at around 9:30 p.m. Saturday.

An altercation ensued and the resident was shot.

He was transported to a trauma center by Atrium Floyd EMS, where he underwent surgery. 

Chief Deputy Josh Summerford told WEIS Radio News that the subjects knew each other.
