Woman facing several drug charges

A 54-year-old Rome woman was arrested at her Wilkerson Road residence Monday on warrants charging her with several drug-related offenses.

According to the warrants:

Stephanie Lynn Ray was found with more than 20 pills of suspected fentanyl, five oxycodone pills wrapped in aluminum foil, suspected methamphetamine, and a glass smoking device on January 25 at a location on Garden Lakes Boulevard.

She is charged with possession of meth, two counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, possession of drug-related objects, DUI, and a seatbelt violation.

Woman arrested for shoplifting also accused of having meth while at the jail

A woman originally arrested for shoplifting on Monday was later charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drugs by an inmate.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Stacey Lynn Maddox of Cedartown concealed just over $34 in merchandise from the East Rome Walmart in her purse and left without paying.

Once at the jail, suspected methamphetamine was found inside her purse.

Man accused of stealing a motorcycle and a vehicle

A Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail Monday on two counts of theft by taking a motor vehicle and a single count of theft by shoplifting.

According to the arrest warrants and Floyd County Jail records:

34-year-old Lihn Hoang Nguyen took a 1996 Yamaha motorcycle, belonging to a Rome man, from a location on Kraftsman Road in Coosa back on August 16, 2022.

He also took a motor vehicle, belonging to a Knoxville, Tennessee woman, from the parking lot of the West Rome Walmart on July 16, 2022.

On that same day, Nguyen also shoplifted several items from Walmart.

Man charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle

A 39-year-old Armuchee man is accused of stealing a 2013 Volkswagen Passat, valued at $12,000.

According to an arrest warrant:

James Edward Ward III took the vehicle from a residence on Turkey Mountain Road on February 4.

He is charged with theft by taking a motor vehicle.

Man arrested on warrant charging him with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon

A 40-year-old Rome man was arrested Monday on a felony warrant for an incident dating back almost two years.

According to the warrant:

Quavarez Marquel Cunningham fired multiple shots from a firearm inside a residence on Paris Drive on May 22, 2022.

It was later confirmed that Cunningham was a convicted felon.

He is charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, driving without a license, and failure to obey a traffic control device.
